WWE News: Randy Orton Suspended 60 Days Following Second Wellness

Following his second violation of the company’s Talent Wellness Policy, Randy Orton has been suspended for the next 60 days from competing in a WWE ring.

Here’s the statement by the WWE on their website on the suspension of Orton this evening.

In accordance with its Talent Wellness Program, WWE has suspended Randy Orton for 60 days effective today for his second violation of the company's policy.

In April of 2006, Orton was suspended for his first violation of the WWE Wellness Policy after being discovered to be smoking marijuana in the backstage area.

Orton’s current suspension comes on the heels of the company suspending Chris Jericho for 30 days after nearly starting an international incident at a live event in Brazil after kicking the Brazilian flag during a match with WWE Champion CM Punk.

Along with the Jericho suspension, former world champion Rey Mysterio was also suspended for a second violation of the company’s wellness policy.

With Orton suspended, the proposed feud between Dolph Ziggler and himself will be nixed, leaving the former United States Champion drifting without a storyline following his loss to the WWE Tag Team Champion, R-Truth and Kofi Kingston, Monday night.

That really sucks for Ziggler, I wonder if they'll push him vs someone else instead
