Shahrukh Khan supports Pakistani players
One of the prime issues of Indian Premiere league (IPL) is to bat for any Pakistani players. One prominent team owner that raised his voice in support of the Pakistani players is the Badshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh the owner of Kolkata Knight Riders said, "They are the champions, they are wonderful but somewhere down the line there is an issue and we can't deny it. We are known to invite everyone. We should have. If there were any issues, they should have been put on board earlier. Everything can happen respectfully".
In the first season of Indian Premier League, SRK roped in Umar Gul and Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar. It is not only Shahrukh Khan who has spoken about the fairness of the bidding process but Bollywood actresses Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty claimed the biding process to be free from any foul play.
In a press conference, Preity Zinta the co-owner of Kings XI Punjab said, "A lot of Australian players were not taken in the auction but zeroed in on that particular thing. So the idea of sensationalising the country's conscience is handlelled by the media. It is very, very important for the media to react sensibly."
Shilpa Shetty of Rajasthan Royals also opined on the issue, "Are we in a situation to provide security with certain political parties and lunatic fringes constantly threatening? I don't think that is something that we wanted to take the onus for. And we were the losers".
