Pakistan manager Abdul Raqeeb today said pace sensation Mohammad Aamer will regain fitness in time for the third and final Test against Australia, starting in Hobart from January 14.

Aamer was outstanding during the first Test in Melbourne, where he claimed a five-wicket haul in the second innings. But he suffered a minor groin injury during that match which ruled him out of the ongoing second Test here at the SCG.

Team doctors are confident that the pacer will be fully fit in time for the final Test.

''He had some icing and will be resting for a few days.

''He was rested (for the Sydney Test) on the advice of the doctors because he was really stiff but hopefully he will be fully fit for Hobart,'' Raqeeb told mediapersons here.

Mohammad Sami, who replaced Aamer, cemented his place in the third Test with a superb spell yesterday.

If Aamer does feature in the Hobart Test, he is most likely to replace offcolour pacer Umar Gul.
