    Default 26 Pakistani Players Register For IPL Auction

    Twenty six Pakistani players have registered themselves for the third edition of Indian Premier League auction. A total of 97 players which includes Shane Bond and Damien Martyn have filed their registration. The auctions will take place on January 19.

    Apart from Bond, who has quit Test cricket, and Martyn, other prominent ex-ICL players who have switched sides include Chris Cairns, Saqlain Mushtaq and Justin Kemp.

    The Pakistani players who have registered for the auction include Twenty20 skipper Shahid Afridi, pacer Mohammad Asif, newcomers Mohammed Aamer and Umar Akmal.

    The four registered players from the Associate countries include Canadians Rizwan Cheema and Khurram Chohan , Ryan ten Doeschate from Netherlands and Niall O'Brien from Ireland.

    All the registered players’ names will be sent to the franchises by IPL who will shortlist players for the final auction. The players will get the information about selection by Tuesday. A maximum of 10 foreign players can be included in a team by the franchises.
