Ranbir swears by his Ambition
On choosing his films?
I think I was extremely lucky to have made my debut with Saawariya, which was a brilliant film. My next, was a romantic film which I enjoyed doing, but Wake Up Sid was a completely different concept and I enjoyed playing a character which was different from what I had done before. As an actor, I always look forward to different characters and thatís why I chose my upcoming film that gives me an opportunity to push my limits.
On roles he wants to do?
Lets just say I want to do roles that suit my age ... I am 27, and I donít want to act 40 and vice versa. I am sure that when I will turn 40, I wonít do things that would suit some 20-year-old.
On having to measure up to dad?
Expectations donít affect me. I think I just need to concentrate on my work and if people are comparing me with my father or are measuring me up with him in mind, then they shouldnít because I stand nowhere in comparison. My father is known for his non-stylised and natural acting, while I am more of a method actor.
On being Mamaís boy?
Both my parents are great friends of mine. But I prefer taking my own decisions in life. I am a very ambitious actor who has his eyes fixed on his targets, so I believe in taking my own decisions and making my own mistakes. ON BEING LINKED TO HIS CO-STARS: Itís rather silly and frankly I think it deserves no attention. How can you link an artist with his co-star in each and every film after short intervals. Everybody in the industry, from Sonam to Genelia have been good friends, we often socialise even beyond work. But thatís how our generation is. I am even friends with many male actors like Imran (Khan) and Harman (Baweja). There is no rivalry, but of course there is a sense of competition which is important for your growth.
