Bipasha can tickle a funny bone
Bipasha Basu says she didn’t realise that she would be adept at comedy till she tackled a small portion of it in Dhoom 2, and later did the full blown comic caper No Entry that became a huge success.
“When I got a chance to then do Devgn Films’ All The Best that is coming to theatres this Diwali (today), I said to myself, this is something I’m not going to miss out on,” says the Bengali bombshell, who insists that she rolled with laughter while shooting and dubbing for this situational comedy.
Bipasha says the entire Goa schedule was like a picnic... with everyone stationed in the same hotel for over a month. “Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan and I worked together, and worked out together at the gym,” she says. “We also bonded over cricket and swimming after pack-up... and it was one big happy family atmosphere.” Bipasha says she has great respect for Rohit Shetty’s earlier comedies – Golmaal and Golmaal Returns, and she feels that All The Best also has the right entertainment quotient for the Diwali festive season. Of her co-stars Ajay, Sanjay and Fardeen, she says, “All of them have tackled more comedy than I have in my career; so it was a cakewalk for them. However, while shooting with them, I realised that I can tickle a funny bone too.”
Bipasha is confident that if sequels to No Entry and All The Best are ever made; she would pitch for a role in them because she has started to enjoy comedy as a genre. “Making people laugh is serious business,” says the actress.
