    Default Best in the World

    Follow us on Social Media

CM Punk, Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Davey Richards, Sami Zayn, Tyson Kidd... Everybody is always arguing about who is the best wrestler in the world, but most of these guys currently work in WWE or TNA... But the wrestling world is huge, and there is waaaaay more than these sports entertainment promotions... There is RoH, AAA, Chikara, CMLL, NJPW, AJPW, CZW, wXw, DPW, NWA... And those are to name just a few...
So which non-WWE/TNA wrestler is in your opinion the best wrestler in the world?

    Kaz Okada
    Shinsuke Nakamura
    Prince Devitt

That would be my shortlist, the only dude in mainstream American wrestling on their level is Daniel Bryan, and he'd round out the top 4 for me.

It's a really difficult question, especially when I never watch other wrestling shows other than WWE.

I agree with you man. I'm a big NJPW fan, and I think American mainstream wrestling fans miss a lot. I personally think that if there would be an Japanese World Champion in a major American promotion in the next 15 years, it would be Kazuchika Okada.

If he ever goes back to the States full time, absolutely. In the meantime, it looks like WWE are signing KENTA, so we may finally see an Asian wrestler given a serious push for once in a mainstream company.

I'm so afraid that they'll ruin KENTA's status by using him in the wrong way... Which WWE will probably do.

Nah, I don't think KENTA would take the risk of going to America unless he had some sort of guarantee of being used correctly. And with Triple H in creative and Regal in his ear I imagine KENTA will be treated with the respect he deserves.

Now the only question is what he'll use as a finisher, since WWE guys have already stolen all his finishes.

Wow Kenta is coming to the WWE? This will be very interesting. Cool news.

Technically i would say Angle, and i also think Bryan and punk should be there (bryan technical ability) and CM punk for entertainment value.

Angle is held together with chewing gum and prayers at this point. Nowhere near the best in the world.

We can't say he isn't great because of injuries, his ability is amazing and I missed it before but swagger has the same ability.

I'm not saying he isn't great because he's injured a lot. I'm saying he isn't great because he isn't anymore. I was under the impression this is a discussion of the best in the world right now, and at this point Angle wouldn't get in my top 50.

it's actually titled just "best in the world" and angel is still up there. just because new wrestlers break through it don't mean the olders ones are now bad. i am all for new talent and yes he does suffer with injuries but would you now discluse edge as being a great competator because of his injuries?

I love that freaking Edge of all people is your example of a best in the world competitor, he was never more than a very good utility player even at his best.

Angle isn't bad just because new guys have come in. He's bad because his body is in pieces and he isn't physically capable of being a good wrestler any more. Edge at least retired before his body got to that stage, to his credit.

If the point of this thread is to argue who the best in the world ever is, then its pointless. Ric Flair is the best wrestler of all time. Close the thread.
