    "Eid Mubarak"

Eid -Ul -Adha is one of the special festivals celebrated by Muslims irrespective of the fact, that wherever a Muslim person is, the festival of Eid -Ul -Adha is celebrated with lot of enthusiasm. This year it is falling on 16th OCT, 2013.

Muslims celebrate the festival of Eid -Ul –Adha in remembrance of prophet Abraham’s readiness to sacrifice his son Ishmael to God. On Eid -Ul –Adha Muslims sacrifice their domestic animals,

like goat, sheep, cow, camel etc. This sacrifice of animals is made by Muslims to pay a tribute to prophet Abraham, as he was ready to sacrifice his son but God gave him a Sheep to sacrifice.

Eid -Ul –Adha celebrations occur after the Hajj and the festival of Eid -Ul –Adha is celebrated on the tenth day of the last month of Islamic year, Duhl- Hijja. Eid -Ul –Adha is known through several names across the world and this festival of sacrifice is celebrated for several days in some areas of the country. It is seen that Muslims celebrate this festival with great excitement no matter where they are

Keeping with the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (saw), Muslims are encouraged to prepare themselves for the occasion of Eid. Below is a list of things Muslims should do in preparation for Eid:
    ... ✿ Wake up early.
    ✿ Offer Salat al-Fajr.
✿ Prepare for personal cleanliness, take care of details of clothing, etc.
Take a Ghusl (bath) after Fajr.
    ✿ Brush teeth with miswak.
✿ Dress up, putting on best clothes available, whether new or cleaned old ones.
✿ Use perfume or attar (men only).
✿ Have breakfast on Eid al-Zuha before leaving for prayer ground (Eidgah). One can take breakfast after Salaat also or after sacrifice if he is offering a sacrifice.
✿ Go to prayer ground (Eidgah) early.
✿ Offer Salaat-al-Eid in congregation in an open place except when whether is not permitting like rain, snow, etc.
✿ Use two separate route to and from the prayer ground.
✿ Recite the following Takbir which starts from Mughrib on the 9th Dhu al-hijah and last until the Asr on the 12th Dhu al-ilhijah:
    ALLAHU-AKBAR, ALLAHU-AKBAR. LA ILA-HA ILL-LAL-LAH. ALLAHU-AKBAR, ALLAHU-AKBAR WA-LILAHILL HAMD.
(ALLAH is great, ALLAH is great. There is no god but ALLAH. ALLAH is great, ALLAH is great. And all praises are for ALLAH).

    ✿✿✿✿✿ ~HAPPY EID UL ADHA~ ✿✿✿✿✿
MAY ALMIGHTY ALLAH BLESS ALL OF US .. MAY ALMIGHTY ALLAH FORGIVE OUR TRANSGRESSIONS AND BESTOW HIS MERCY ON US ...FORGIVE OUR SINS AND GUIDE US TO THE STRAIGHT PATH TO JANNAH .... AAMEEN

"And the Budn (cows, oxen, or camels driven to be offered as
sacrifices by the pilgrims at the
sanctuary of Makkah.) We have made
for you as among the Symbols of
Allh, therein you have much good.
So mention the Name of Allh over them when they are drawn up in
lines (for sacrifice). Then, when they
are down on their sides (after
slaughter), eat thereof, and feed the
beggar who does not ask (men), and
the beggar who asks (men). Thus have We made them subject to you
that you may be grateful. 37. It is neither their meat nor their blood that reaches Allh, but it is
piety from you that reaches Him.
Thus have We made them subject to
you that you may magnify Allh for
His Guidance to you. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad ) to the Muhsinn (doers of good)".(Surah Hajj)
    Holly QurAN

Eid Al- Adha to you and your beloved ones! May Allah accept our fast these 9 days and forgive us our past and present and future sins! AMEEN !

Just a few tidbits of info to share:

Fasting the first Nine Days of Dhul-Hijjah is a Sunnah

Hunaydah ibn Khaalid narrated upon the authority of his wife who said, “Some of the wives of the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihiwasallam) told me that the Prophet (salallaahu ‘alaihiwasallam) used to fast the Day of ‘Aashoorah, the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah, and three days out of every month*.” (Imam Ahmad, An-Nasaaee)

    *- 13th, 14th, and 15th every month

Commentary: Imam An-Nawwawee (rahimahullaah) said with reference to fasting the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah,

quote: “It is extremely preferable to do so.”

Fatwah from Shaikh al-’Uthaimeen about fasting first Nine Days of Dhul-Hijjah

A questioner asked Shaikh al-’Uthaimeen (rahimahullaah) the following question:

Question: Oh Shaikh, are there any authentic ahadith that mention fasting the first [nine] days of Dhul-Hijjah?

    Answer by Shaikh al-’Uthaimeen:

    quote:

“Fasting the first [nine] of Dhul-Hijjah is from the righteous actions without doubt.

And the Prophet salallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam said, “There are not any days in which righteous actions are done that are more beloved to Allaah than these ten days.” They said, “Oh Messenger of Allaah, not even jihad in Allaah’s cause?” He said, “Not even jihad in Allaah’s cause, except for a man who left out with his self and his wealth, and he did not return with either.”

So fasting is included in the general context of this hadith. And there appears a hadith stating that the Messenger of Allaah salallaahu ‘alaihi wasallam used to fast the first ten of Dhul Hijjah, not counting the ‘Eid [in other words, the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah].

And Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal rahimahullaah takes this position and it is authentic. Fasting in the first ten [of Dhul-Hijjah, excluding the 'Eid] is sunnah. Yes.”
