Extremists disrupt shooting of Saurabh Tewari's Adaa (Life OK) in Kashmir...read on to learn why
We recently wrote about Saurabh Tewari’s Nautanki Telefilms commencing shoot in Kashmir for their upcoming show on Life OK titled Adaa. We had also covered the fact that the team plans to shoot at Gulmarg and Srinagar.
We now hear that their shoot at Srinagar was disrupted by few groups which lead to lot of chaos resulting in a law and order problem. A close source revealed to us that the crew was shooting an important sequence with veteran actor Farookh Sheikh and Kishori Shahane in the Lal Chowk area of Srinagar when this problem occurred.
On further inquiry, we learnt that the unit and crew are presently planning to shoot an important song sequence wherein the Kashmiri All-Girls Band (which has a Fatwa against it) is performing on a rock concert. The sequence will have the lead girl in the show, Nikita Sharma performing with the band. And probably, this lead to tension as few extremist groups have asked to stop the shoot of this particular sequence.
We tried calling Producer Saurabh Tewari for a comment on the same, but he chose not to respond to our repeated calls and text messages.
We dropped a text message to Ajit Thakur, General Manager, Life OK but our efforts to get through to him remained futile.
As reported earlier, Adaa which is the love story of a girl from Kashmir and a boy from Mumbai has Ayaaz Ahmed playing the male lead. Farookh Sheikh, Kishori Shahane, Resham Tipnis, Uday Tikekar and Ritu Vashishta play pivotal roles in the show.
Adaa is expected to launch in the last week of May 2013.
