Everybody's NOT invited: Rishi
This was a historic get-together. In all his career as an actor Rishi Kapoor has seldom, if ever, celebrated the success of his films. Nor has he
ever thrown a party for friends and colleagues.
On the contrary Rishi hates parties and get-togethers and makes no effort to hide his distaste for late-night celebrations.
It, therefore, came a surprise to know that Rishi Kapoor had decided to throw a party for the success of his latest film
on Thursday night.
But hold on. There was a catch. The party at the Olive was only for the core goup from the film, namely principal actor Saif Ali Khan, producer Dinesh Vijan and director Imtiaz Ali.
Even the music composer Pritam Chakraborty was not invited.
“I was very excited about celebrating the success of Love Aaj Kal and was invited for a party on Thursday night. Then I was informed it had been cancelled,” said Pritam on Thursday afternoon.
Said Imtiaz, “I’m really surprised you heard about the party. It was not even a party. Rishiji just wanted to spend an evening with us over drinks. We had an intelligent conversation over drinks.”
The Love Aaj Kal team has much reason to celebrate. The film, which initially opened to huge crowds, has been able to sustain its initial momentum through the second weekend making it the biggest film so far of 2009. First-time producer Saif Ali Khan is over the moon.
Interestingly, even the film's heroine Deepika Padukone seems to have been missed out. Earlier, Rishi has been rumoured to have jokingly referred to his son's girlfriend as 'bahurani'...we wonder why she wasn't invited?
