'Tere Sang' will make you think: Anupam Kher
Anupam Kher, who stars and produces 'Tere Sang', a film on teen pregnancy, says the movie is an attempt to initiate a positive discussion on the issue without being preachy.
Kher, who is co-producing the film with Satish Kaushik, said, "Our idea was not to change the world. We made a love story where the issues have come that will make you think.
"It is an effort, apart from entertaining people, to provide a forum for discussion which is very contemporary. The question is what happens if a girl gets pregnant at the age of 16?"
The actor, who has played a variety of roles in his 25-year-long career in Hindi film industry, is not afraid with the unconventional issue of the movie.
"It's our first film together as producers and we want this film to do well because then we will have the courage to make a film which has lot of entertainment yet some kind of social relevance," said Kher, who was in the city to promote the movie with the star cast of the movie.
The film, which hits theatres on Friday, stars young actors like Ruslaan Mumtaz and Sheena Shahabadi, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik and Neena Gupta. It has been co-produced by Kher and Kaushik, who has also directed the movie.
