The Rock recently indirectly commented on the criticism he's received from the locker room after "taking a spot" in the WrestleMania main event. The comments were made during an interview with Boston Herald.
He said: "For the guys in the locker room, it has to be more than just, 'I'm ready to carry the company.' It has to be, 'I'm ready to carry the company and then I'm ready to carry the company to places it's never been.' That's hard to do considering the precedent that's already been set. I'm WWE for life. I look at it like that. I'm always looking for just opportunities and ways that I can give back."
-- Speaking of The Rock, his new action/comedy Pain and Gain is getting criticized for a sympathetic portrayal of real-life murders. It's called a "true story" and is being penned by surviving family members who don't see the humor in the death of their family at the hands of the Sun Gym Gang, led by Mark Wahlberg's character.
Retired Miami-Dade Police Sgt. Felix Jiminez, who helped with the investigation in the 1990s, said: "You are talking about real people. And in this particular case, especially when you're talking about the murder victims, these were innocent victims."
A relative called the film "ridiculous. I don't want the American public to be sympathetic to the killers."
