An Alternative Look At Raw
Hello, and welcome back to Wrestlingnews.net, and my first alternative look at Monday Night Raw.
(note – this is not meant to be a serious look, and will look at things in a different way)
THE PRIME TIME PLAYERS
Although used for comic relief, and to show how ‘focused’ John Cena is for Wrestlemania, the Prime Time Players once again showed their strength on the mike, even if the segment ran too long. Titus O’Neill is looking more and more capable of making the leap to singles star when the PTP split in the future.
On another note, where did the WWE writers find the name Pancake Patterson?
DAVID OTUNGA – BAD ON THE MIC
For those who use the WWE app, David Otunga gave an interview to Matt Striker before he was demolished by Ryback. But for a man recently cast in a movie, his interview was awful. And don’t get me started on his facial hair; I wanted Ryback to knock it off his face.
It could have been worse though, it could have been Michael Tarver.
I didn’t see much of Johnny Curtis on NXT, but the man is weird. Whether that is him or his character, there is something not quite right about him. I don’t know whose idea Fandango was, but I can guarantee that most people who record Raw fast forward him.
How can you tell WWE don’t have total faith in Fandango? Listen to Jerry Lawler positively drool over him every time he comes to the ring/dancefloor.
CM PUNK – BEST HEEL IN MODERN TIMES
CM Punk knows how to make an audience hate him, although why he was in front of a forklift truck I’ll never know. WWE loves to use every part of the arena, but despite this, Punk’s promo last night was superb, and I cannot wait for Punk and Taker to face off at Wrestlemania.
(note – to hear Richard Gray’s take on why Punk should end the streak, head over to Wrestlingnewsworld.com)
NO ROCKY AGAIN
So The Rock was on my side of the pond yesterday doing promotional work for G.I. Joe. I understand why people are upset about the champ not being on Raw again, but it’s not like it’s a big surprise. We knew it was going to happen, let’s get on with it.
ZIGGLER WINS AGAIN
So Dolph wins another singles match, so the MITB cash-in must be soon? Well, think again, because Team Hell No will face Dolph and Big E Langston.
Many people are making obvious comparisons between Langston and Ryback, something that Langston has addressed on Twitter. On the subject on Langston, why is his singlet getting smaller every week? Man needs some trousers.
WHERE WAS BRICKIE???
Well, one week after, arguably, the worst promo in the history of three hour Raw, Brad Maddox has disappeared. It’s been nice knowing you Bradley.
The three hour Raw gimmick has been slated, but on the lead up to Wrestlemania, it feels right.
