Amrita Rao, who has played a number of young romantic roles, will be seen as a teacher in her upcoming film, 'Jolly LLB'. She says, "Yes, I play a teacher in Meerut. She is headstrong, wears kurtas and rides a scooter. She is the girl-next-door, but with a twist. The most interesting aspect of her personality is the chemistry she shares with her lawyer boyfriend ( Arshad Warsi). They aren't mushy and are more buddies than lovers. She is not demure or respectful and that was something I had to work on."

The petite actress says that she never chooses a role for its length. "When you get to play an interesting role, you don't think about its screen time. I haven't been paired with Arshad before and he is a great guy. He has an innate sense of humour that lightens the mood on the set," she says, adding, "Also, the movie is about how our courts function, so I hope it gives the audience some insight into the real picture."

Asserting that not many films have been made on this subject, she elaborates, "The movie narrates the story of two lawyers and though the subject seems to be serious in nature, it will entertain you. It doesn't sound too preachy because it has also been made keeping in mind the entertainment point of view." Amrita recalls saying yes to the movie immediately after writer-director Subhash Kapoor narrated the script to her. "I found it very interesting to be a part of a movie that delves into something not many people have attempted before," she enthuses, adding, "People are already curious as to what exactly the movie is about. The trailers and songs have been generating a positive buzz so, let's just hope the movie works as well."

Jolly LLB, produced by Fox Star Studios, releases March 15.
