Mallika Sherawat visits Indore in burqa
The month of January has surely been quite eventful for MP, with so many film shoots happening in the state.
After Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and Singh Saheb-The Great, the team of which is currently shooting in Indore, the cast and crew of Dirty Politics arrived in the city yesterday including Mallika Sherawat, Om Puri and Ashutosh Rana, while Anupam Kher and Rajpal Yadav are expected to join the film's unit in a day or two.
The film, which is based on the life of Bhanvari Devi, is being directed by KC Bokadia and produced by city-based industrialist Prafull Saklecha. Praful shares, "I hail from this city and taking into account the amount of potential the locations of Indore have, it was of course our very first choice. We wish to explore the unexplored and novel sites in and around the city. It is going to be a five-six day long schedule here."
The locations finalized for the shoot include Daly College School, Ralamandal for depicting the residence of Bhanvari Devi (played by Sherawat) and a private bungalow in the Bicholi Mardana area. Some parts of the film have already been shot in Pushkar near Jaipur and following the schedule in Indore, the film's unit will head to Mumbai.
But what surprised us all was a burqa-clad Mallika Sherawat at the Indore airport, who arrived in the city with Om Puri. But this isn't the first time when the actress has picked this avatar for her visit to Indore. Last time too when she was in town for a private function in 2009, she dodged the media and her fans waiting at the airport with a similar outfit.
