YPD 2 shooting cancelled in Indore
It was just a week back when the entire crew of Sangeeth Siwan's Yamla Pagla Deewana 2, including Bobby Deol and Neha Sharma, had a brief stopover in Indore before heading to Mandav to shoot for the sequel.
And after a week-long schedule in Mandav's Roopmati and Jahaj Mahal as well as Maheshwar's Narmada Ghat and local markets, the film's remaining portion was to be shot in Indore's Lalbaugh Palace from January 27. But due to lack of permissions from the state archaeological department over shooting at Crown Hall of Lalbaugh Palace, director Siwan decided to pack up and head to Mumbai a day before the shooting was slated to begin in the city.
"We had informed the archaeological department over the intended choice of locations inside the palace and they were okay with the usage of Crown Hall initially. But when we confirmed the dates with the department after completing the film's portions at Mandav and Maheshwar, they said that we can use only the Dancing Pavilion and two other rooms inside the palace but, we can't shoot at Crown Hall. So Sangeeth decided to shoot the remaining portions in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's studio in Mumbai. As the entire shooting schedule in Indore has been cancelled, some financial and timing issues have also cropped up," informs a source from the film's unit.
SN Raj, deputy director at state archaeological department, informs, "The film's crew had taken permissions for shooting in Mandav and Maheshwar from the central archaeological department in Delhi but when they had approached us for Lalbaugh Palace, we had denied permission for any shooting inside Crown Hall, which is a display area."
