Anurag Kashyap gets an international Lunchbox
The filmmaker gets names like Lydia Pilcher and Cedomir Kolar to co-produce his next.
Anurag Kashyap has often tried to make a name in the international market. Several of his films have been screened at international film festivals and he is a known name in the foreign circuit today. Evidently the filmmaker is making efforts to take Indian cinema to the next level with foreign co-productions.
Without making much noise about it, he has completed his next film titled Lunchbox. The film directed by his protege Ritesh Batra stars Irrfan Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique and Nimrat Kaur. Interestingly Anurag Kashyap has got foreign producers to collaborate on the project.
Lydia Pilcher (producer of The Reluctant Fundamentalist, Namesake), Cedomir Kolar (producer of Oscar winning No Man's Land) and Anurag Kashyap along with Dar Motion Pictures have come together to produce Lunchbox.
"Lunchbox is a fantastic script. It brings together the best of talent of Irrfan and Nawazuddin", says Anurag. "It is a love story set in Mumbai between a young housewife and a middle aged man. Is a story of a beautiful relationship triggered by a wrong delivery of one in 8 million lunch boxes that is delivered daily by Mumbai's now famous Dabbawallas".
Arun Rangachari, chairman Dar Motion Pictures says, "Lunchbox as a film has huge potential as it is a high content film. We have partnered with the best talent across the globe".
