Today's item numbers aren't interesting, says Isha
Actor Isha Koppikar's Bollywood career is all but over. Married to restaurateur Timmy Narang, the pretty actor is now planning to start a chain of health food restaurants across the country.
"I am a big foodie and I want to translate my love for food into something positive. So, I am coming up with some quick service restaurants, to begin with in Mumbai, which will serve good, healthy take-away food," says the actor, who was in Lucknow on Wednesday to judge a local talent hunt show.
Telling us more about her plans, Isha says, "I love to cook as well. So on weekends, when I'm home, I cook all sorts of exotic things, but I ensure they are healthy. In fact, I eat all kinds of food, but always tweak it to make it more healthy. I eat well and slog it out in the gym later. I don't believe in starving myself nor do I believe in size zero. It's all rubbish. We have one life yaar, usey achhi tarah kha-pee ke ji len!" says Isha, who treated herself to biryani, galawati kababs, qorma and phirni while here in Lucknow. "I love the phirni you get here. I'm getting it packed to take back home," says she.
But it's not only food on Isha's mind. She has recently signed a Marathi film as well. "It's funny I have worked in so many regional languages, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Punjabi but never acted in a Marathi film, even though I live in Maharashtra and am fairly fluent in Marathi," says the pretty lady, who is touted as one of the first item girls of Hindi cinema. "Yes, I know people say I'm a kind of a trendsetter for item numbers, but frankly I don't like the item numbers being doled out these days. They aren't very interesting."
