While the clamouring claims of the male domination in Hindi Film Industry continue, there's one female out to change the game.

Although Manisha Kelkar is reasonably new in the industry, the actress is already hitting the headlines for being the only female cast in the forthcoming film Bandook.

It is learnt, that the film has all male leading and character actors making Manisha the only female lead in the film. However, the actress is unperturbed by presence of only men around her, "This is a realistic film and a very violent one at that. It center around the men that have been cast in the film. However, my character brings out a different facet of the film and literally alters the pace of it too." The actress further adds, "I bring about the emotional depth in the film as I play the love interest of the lead actor Aditya Om. My track gives a soothing effect to the violent film."

Born to renowned film writer Ram Kelkar who has films like Khal Nayak, Ram Lakhan, Hero among others to his credit, Manisha's entry to the film industry was one pretty much expected. Formally trained in dancing by her renowned dancer-mother Jaya, Manisha considers Bandook as a perfect platform to showcase her acting prowess, "Director Aditya Om who also acts in the film had approached me for a role in the film. Since it's very different from the regular potboilers that release in the film industry, Bandook was very challenging. However, it was an enriching experience as I learnt so much from this film also from Aditya!"

Bandook is the story of nexus between crime & politics and how gun has become an umbilical chord between the two. The film releases on the 18th of January.
