Anil Kapoor & John Abraham turn rapsters
The two actors have rapped for the first time for a song in Shootout At Wadala
Actors singing in Bollywood films isn't a new trend. But it's new for sure for actors Anil Kapoor and John Abraham. The two have been roped in for a number in Shootout At Wadala.
Anil plays the cop in the film, while John plays the gangster. The song has been composed by the music composer duo of brothers Manmeet and Harmeet, who go by the name of Meet Bros Anjjan in the music industry. "It's a track called Goli Ki Apni Hai Boli, which we've sung and composed," informs Manmeet, "and Anil Kapoor and John Abraham do a chor-police rap in it."
It was director Sanjay Gupta's idea to get the stars to sing, adds Manmeet. "He also made Sanjay Dutt sing in Jane Kya Hoga Rama Re in Kaante, and he convinced the two actors for this song as well," he says.
Anil Kapoor recorded his bit of the song on Wednesday, while John's recording was scheduled for Friday. "Anil Kapoor was so excited about the song. He brought so much energy and passion to it. He kept going till he got it just right. It's amazing how even at this age he has so much zeal to try something new," shares Manmeet, adding that "John and Anil are most likely to perform on this number at an upcoming awards night."
The Meet Bros Anjjan have also composed the music of the title song of the film, Ae Manya. While the film is scheduled to release in May, the music will be launched by March this year.
