"I have to run till I can" - Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar turned 45 over the weekend gone by and while he is already shooting for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2, there are finishing touches being given to Khiladi 786 which would be released before the end of year. With OMG Oh My God all set for arrival later this month, Akshay would be a part of as many as five films this year. Still, the actor maintains that he is no mood to run any numbers game and is just happy being in the business.
"The thing is that the whole number game can turn out to be really deadly", says Akshay, "After all, I won't be in it forever and there will be a day when I would be happy to make films that just sell. So rather than me running this big chase for the rest of my career, let me run till I can. I have to better make sure that I can set the pace, if not trying to keep up the pace."
While he is indeed looking at maintaining the pace with multiple films in his kitty, what with Special Chabbis, Naam Hai Boss and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 in his kitty with a couple of other projects shaping up, there are developments closer home. After all, now that he would be a father again, it would be back to grind for him when it comes to staying awake overnight and coping up with the newborn's schedule. Is he all set and prepared for that?
Smiles Akshay, "Any sleepless night is worth it for any father. Having said that, I am sure that a child of mine will eat and sleep as peacefully as I do. It should be no different this time around."
With Akshay's birthday, release of his new film and arrival of a newborn in the interim period, guess September will pretty much turn out to a month of celebrations at the Kumar household.
