Proving yourself biggest challenge: Suraj Jagansinger Suraj Jagan says having contacts in the industry helps getting an easy entry, but to stay put, it is important to prove your mettle.
"Having some contacts and knowing people who can help open doors for you, helps a lot. But once you get inside the industry, you have to work very hard to prove yourself and to make a loyal audience for yourself," Jagan told IANS.
"Whether you are an actor or singer, a godfather can just get you in through the door a little easier," he added.
He has lent voice to more than 200 jingles including the "You and I in this beautiful world", and is known for singing numbers like "Give me some sunshine", "Sadka kiya" and "Aafaton ke parinde".
Audiences like good stories: Tannishtha
Actress Tannishtha Chatterjee, who has worked in movies like "Road, Movie" and "Dekh Indian Circus", says the audience only wants films with good storylines.
"Audiences respect new stories and they want to watch well-written stories," said Tannishtha, who believes these are thus, good times for filmmakers with fresh ideas.
"It is a great era for the Indian film industry as there are plenty of issues that can be dealt with. The younger generation is far more exposed to the new techniques," she added.
The actress will be seen in the role of a bride imported from Bengal in Nila Madhab Panda's forthcoming film "Jalpari: The Desert Mermaid". The movie deals with the issue of female foeticide.
