Sree & I became soft targets: Minissha
Minissha Lamba is impressed by reports that she was kissing Sreesanth at an awards function in Macau recently.
“This is completely false. Why would I do that?” she says. So what is the real story? She says, “Of course, everyone was there at the casino that night. I was there with 25 other people. And it was definitely not that late. The writer of that information has a very vivid imagination and I’m sure that she/he can have an excellent career as a novelist. But as far as the fact of the matter is concerned, it’s totally untrue,” she says.
Minissha says she hasn’t even seen the report yet, that says that she kissed Sreesanth at an awards function in Macau. “Never in my life have I displayed any kind of affection publicly. This news is completely false. Why would I do that?” she asks.
Does she like the cricketer or know him at all? “Sreesanth is one of India’s most popular sportspersons. I only met him in Macau. The only time when we Indians feel patriotic is when India is playing a cricket match in India or abroad. And we are cheering for him to lead us to a win. I respect him a lot – what he has accomplished and what he has given to cricket – and therefore, when a report like this comes, it is all the more vulgar,” she fumes.
So she follows cricket, right? “I don’t follow cricket much. It’s sad that we both became soft targets. He is a very sweet and genuine person and it was good meeting someone who is so talented. And when you get to read something like this, it makes you feel cautious about meeting new people in the future, ” says Minissha.
At Macau, what exactly was her interaction with Sree like? She says, “I met Sree for only 20 minutes. I went to the casino around 11.30 pm. Again, it is completely false that I was at the casino around 3.40 am. By that time, I was fast asleep. I have to say, it was really good to know him. I have no clue whether Sree knows about this piece of gossip.”
And is there anything interesting happening in her life? Minissha laughs, “When there’s so much interesting stuff being written about, what more interesting news can I share with you? I’ll be in Delhi in August. I don’t miss Delhi anymore because I consider Mumbai my home. That’s where life is now... that’s where work is for me.”
