Kareena Kapoor’s smoking scenes in ‘Heroine’ trailer to be blurred by CBFCKareena Kapoor’s bold and uninhibited image in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’ did not go down well with the censor board as they have decided to censor her shots in which she is seen smoking in the trailer.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has decided to blur all images of smoking from feature films.
“We’ve taken a decision some time back to show no smoking in trailers. This is because in a trailer, there can be no disclaimer about smoking. In the full-length feature film, there has to be disclaimer about smoking at the beginning and after interval. Even then the smoking sequences are blurred,” said J.P. Singh, CBFC’s regional officer in Mumbai.
The trailer has got an ‘A’ certificate from the censor board.
“As expected got a “A” certificate from the censor board. Countdown begins for the launch of the poster & promo of ?#Heroine?.”, wrote director Madhur Bhandarkar on twitter.
However, the movie itself has not got an ‘A’ certificate as the director later clarified that he was only talking about the trailer “A small correction. The ‘A’ certificate is for the theatrical promo of ?#Heroine?, not the film. Edit of the film still in process.”, he further wrote.
Directed by Madhur Bhandarkar, the movie is based on the life of a superstar named Mahi Arora, played by Kareena Kapoor and also stars Arjun Rampal, Shahana Goswani, Randeep Hooda and Divya Dutta in prominent roles. The film is slated to release on 21st September which also happens to be Kareena Kapoor’s birthday!
