Bang & Olufsen Beolit 12 music system to enter India in June
Bang & Olufsen (B&O), the Denmark-based luxury brand into customized audio and video products is looking at bringing its new product lineup to India as well.
Planning to introduce its new Beolit 12, a portable music system, the company has appointed Shreyans Group as the master dealer for the Indian market. As the partnership will be effective from June 1, the Beolit 12 is expected to hit the market in the first week of the month itself.
With B&O products being compatible with Apple products, the Beolit 12 will be the first to have Apple's AirPlay technology that can be used to play music wirelessly from iPod, iPhone, iPad and Mac.
There is also an option to plug in any other phone or gadget using the USB cable. The Beolit 12 comes with built-in battery that can last between 4 to 8 hours, depending upon the usage.
When an iPod is plugged using a cable, it can also take charge from the Beolit 12. Weighing 2.8 kg, it is portable enough to carry around.
Although the company didn't share the expected price at the moment, it is expected that this will be company's first mass market product. Internationally, it is retailing at close to $799 and is expected to land in India for around Rs 50,000 (including landing cost and taxes).
