Keeping Your Nail Polish Fresh
Nails with nail polish are very good to look at. For this reason, most of the women out there make it a point to go to salons, get a manicure and pedicure, and beautify their nails by having them painted. What’s frustrating is the fact that these colors fade or peel off after a few days.
The Habit of Biting Nails and its Effects
Nail biting is always considered as a bad habit. People who are around you will be distracted when they see you doing that in public. Having the reputation of a nail biter will not be good for you; therefore, you should try to stop it as soon as possible.
Nail biting is actually the result of stress. If you’re into it, you are displaying your emotional state to other people. This means the sign of stress is showing in your behavior. It doesn’t mean though that the person who bites her nail is a weak type of person. It also does not necessarily mean that she is emotionally troubled. It is just one sign of stress. There can be other signs but the person who is involved may be showing it in different ways and not just in biting her nails.
Aside from this fact, nail biting can also bring irritable damage. This habit can lead to infection because it exposes your nails to germs. Not only that, you will be prone to acquiring intestinal worms because dirty nails can bring parasites into your body.
The nail biting habit is a behavior that can be controlled or totally eliminated. To be able to do this, your decision will matter a lot. You have to come up with a solid decision that you will work it out. This is the first step of the process. The desire to stop the habit should come from your heart.
Controlling or eliminating the problem is not an overnight matter. It needs patience and continuity. In short, you have to commit yourself to the process to see results. Think about the disadvantages of biting your nails in a frequent manner. It is not just a bad, disgusting habit; it will also bring adverse effect to your health. These reasons are enough to make you decide to stop in biting your nails.
Some women do their own nail care at home in order to save money. They just buy all the necessary tools and stuffs to do their own manicure and pedicure sessions at their comfort zone. Their frustration anyway is that most of the time, the nail polish collection that they have with them would not stay fresh for a long time. It dries up too fast. When this happens, it can be considered as a loss of investment because you won’t be able to use it anymore.
Nevertheless, there are ways to keep your nail polish fresh. One way is to keep it where it’s dark and do not let it get exposed to direct sunlight. The sun and a bright place will damage the color of the nail polish. When this happens, the color and the texture will not be pleasant anymore.
Another way to make it stay fresh is to keep the neck of the bottle clean. Wipe away the neck of the bottle from the inside to the outside. That way, you will remove the excess amount of polish that may have built up while you are using it. If the polish thickens, you won’t be able to close the bottle properly and air will get inside. When this happens, the nail polish will become hard and you will be left with no choice but to throw it away. For sure, you wouldn’t want this thing to happen to any of your stuffs
Collecting Fake Nails
Collecting fake nails can be an exciting hobby. Aside from the fact that you can use them in different occasions, you will experience the pleasure of seeing them in your collector’s box.
Although you can purchase fake nails in pieces (per set in particular); you may opt to buy several sets in one box to avail discounts. This is advisable for people who intend to have various sets or who are really into collecting such stuffs. Buying in bulk will save you money and for this reason, you can as well resell each pair with a cut.
Fake nails are available in different colors. The most common colors are red and white. There are other available colors and you have the power to choose which among them will suit your taste. Having several pairs will make it easier for you to match one with what you are wearing. Most of these man made nails are waterproof and there are free adhesives that come with them in every purchase.
Fake nails can be bought at beauty stores. For those people who do not want to experience traffic hassles and others, they may just order a package from a website that sells such items. It’s cheaper to buy online and most of the time, you can find what you’re looking for on the net, including stuffs that are not available in actual shops and stores.
If one of your female friends or relatives will celebrate a special day soon, you may give her a set of fake nails. If she is a person who loves to see herself beautiful, it’s a gift that she will appreciate; especially if she loves experimenting on her looks.
Just always remember that there are dos and don’ts in wearing such stuffs. You should know how to apply and remove them properly to avoid damaging your real nails.
6 Things to Do to Develop Healthy Nails
Nail Care Tips – 6 Things to Do to Develop Healthy Nails
Your fingernails are reflections of your personality. They always tell something about you, and that is whether you like it or not. For this reason, you should keep them clean and presentable. However, taking care of the nails does not start and end in being clean and presentable alone. There’s more to it than mere appearance. If you want to keep your nails in top condition, there are certain things that you should do. The nail care tips below are some of them:
· If you want healthy nails, you should drink plenty of water. If your body is hydrated, it will show on your nails. Lack of fluid in the body will result to cracked and weak nails. · Before applying nail polish, apply varnish remover on your nails first to remove any amount of grease. Doing this will also add life to the nail polish itself.
· Make sure that you intake enough vitamins especially Vitamins A, C and E. Vitamin B12 is also essential in nail care, as well as calcium, protein, iron, zinc and folic acid. They will keep your nails from being breakable. · If you have to do something which will require your hands to be soaked in water, soil, chemicals and other damaging stuffs, wear gloves to protect both your hands and nails. As much as possible, use gloves that have cotton linings so that your hands will stay dry inside. When your hands are often soaked, particularly in water, there is a risk that you will catch fungal infection.
· Apply moisturizing cream on your hands regularly to keep the cuticles from drying out. Dry cuticles that are not properly groomed will likely affect the growth of nails in an adverse manner. · Avoid using emery boards on your nails. They are too rough and might cause them damage. Use a soft nail file instead.
Acrylic Nails Will Not Harm Your Natural Nails (is this true i heard it does)
Acrylic Nails Will Not Harm Your Natural Nails, But…
Contrary to what other people are saying, it is not true that acrylic nails can cause damage to your natural nails. They are in fact safe to use but misuse is the one that causes damages.
A person who is wearing acrylic nails should ensure that there is no gap between them and the natural nails; lest, discoloration will take place, as well as coarsening which will make them rough and harsh in texture. To avoid creating gaps between the acrylic and the natural nail, you should avoid bumping the acrylic nail or it will slightly separate from the natural. When this happens, a moist and warm environment will be produced between them and it will likely encourage the growth of fungi and bacteria. This may result to infection.
You should also avoid wearing acrylic nails for a prolonged period. Remember that your natural nails should be allowed to breathe freely so they won’t become moist. Putting on fake nails for a long period will suffocate the natural ones. This is definitely not a healthy practice.
You also better choose a reputable salon that will apply the acrylic nails on you. There are salons that use tools which are not sanitized. Be cautious of salons such as these because if those tools will be used on you, you may develop nail fungus. If ever you will be doing the task by yourself, make sure that everything you will use is clean.
When you notice discoloration on your nails, as well as redness and excessive peeling on your skin, it will be best to consult a dermatologist at once so that proper treatment can be applied. However, always remember that prevention is still better than cure. You should avoid the things that will cause damage to your natural nails as early as possible.
The Way to Apply Acrylic Nails
If you have trouble growing your nails, or if you want a quick fix because you are going somewhere special, getting yourself a set of acrylic nails is the next best thing to natural, well-polished nails.
Acrylic nails are artificial nails which you put over your real nails. They last longer than ordinary nail polish set on real nails. Usually, nail polish begins to fade within a week’s time, but when you are using acrylic nails, you need to replace them after only a couple of weeks, so that’s about a week more.
Some acrylic nails come with designs already, so all you have to do is simply glue them on your real nails, polish them a bit, and you’re done. There are also acrylic nails that are plain or colorless, so you can paint some nail polish over them.
Putting on acrylic nails is fun and interesting. You do not have to go to a nail salon just to get a perfect set of acrylic nails because you can do this in your own home. First, prep your nails. Clean them well; remove any nail polish if there is any evidence of it left on the nails. Try to reduce as much cuticle as possible, and trim your nails, as well.
Now that’s done, put nail glue over your nails, and put the acrylic nails on. Trim your acrylic nails according to your desired length. Next, mix liquid acrylic with powdered acrylic and put the mixture over the nails. Then buff, and apply your preferred nail polish.
The process seems so simple, but it can take a lot of practice and patience before you can actually perfect it.
