Karan Johar won't co-produce Shahid's 'Vettai' remake
Bollywood Chocolate boy Shahid Kapoor’s desire to work with Karan Johar now looks like a distant dream. Since the beginning of his Bollywood career Shahid had wanted to work with Dharma productions. His dream got almost fulfilled when on Shahid’s request UTV the production house of his upcoming film Vettai remake, roped in Karan Johar. We had earlier reported that KJo’s Dharma Productions would be co-producing the Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster film Vettai with UTV productions to be directed by Lingusamy.
According to the sources, Karan Johar backed out from the film for he does not want to co-produce two films at a time. Karan is already co-producing a film with Balaji Telefilms. Additionally, his directorial venture ‘Student of the year’ is also keeping him busy.
Shahid has had a tough time last few days as he had to deal with a stalker who claimed to be his wife and the news of some Bollywood actresses refusing to work with him.
Vettai will be Shahid's first South remake. The film will have two male leads and two female leads. Ali Zafar of ‘Mere Brother ki Dulhan’ fame will also be part of the film in which he will play the role of Shahid’s elder brother. Zafar would be replacing Madhvan who played the elder brother in the original Vettai. Shahid will mark his foray as an action hero in the film. The rest of the cast is yet to be finalized. The shooting of the film will reportedly begin from the first week of May in Hyderabad.
