Hyundai pulls a fast one, unveils all new 2013 Santa FeSouth Korean auto giant, Hyundai Motor Company, staged the world premiere of its 2013 Santa Fe at New York Auto Show on Wednesday.
The popular SUV has re-styled inside and out, fitted with enhanced features and new technology, and powered by re-tuned engines for improved efficiency. The latest instalment of Santa Fe has two variants, one a two-row Sport model and the other a three-row family-minded model.
The base model is equipped with a direct-injection 2.4-liter four pot for generating 190 horsepower and 181 pound-feet of torque. The two variants are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission and the engines support all-wheel drive.
The Sport variant of Santa Fe comes with a unique feature of torque-vectoring cornering control. The feature is likely to give an edge to the vehicle against the other affordable crossovers in the market. The automaker claims that it has managed to chop a whopping 266 pounds from the latest Santa Fe compared to the 2012 model.
The three-row model targeted at the family segment, adds around four inches of additional wheelbase and a more powerful 3.3-liter direct-injection V6 with 290 horsepower.
