Hrithik-Barbara promote 'Kites' at Cannes
The first look of the Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori -starrer Kites was unveiled on Friday at Cannes Film Festival in south of France.
The two actors, along with director Anurag Basu and producer Rakesh Roshan , unveiled a teaser trailer and posters of the movie in front of the global media at the festival’s market section.
Speaking to the press, producer Rakesh Roshan said a movie like ‘Kites’ hasn’t been attempted in India before.
“A film like 'Kites' has never been attempted in India before. This is our attempt to tap the mainstream international audience and we are hopeful that we will be able to meet this objective,” Rakesh Roshan said.
Starring the Mexican actress Barbara Mori as female lead and made with an international crew, ‘Kites’ will be released later this year in two languages – Hindi for Indian audiences and English for international viewers.
Hrithik, the movie’s male lead, said the film has a scope to appeal to wider audiences.
“Kites is a story of love that goes beyond barriers, boundaries and cultures…With an internationally renowned crew and crisp story telling, we have attempted to create a film which we feel has a scope to reach wider world audience and set new benchmarks,” Hrithik said.
Barbara Mori said working in ‘Kites’ was an overwhelming experience for her.
“Kites is my first international experience of working in a film with Indian cast and I must say it has been extremely overwhelming,” she said.
On Friday, Hrithik, Barbara and Rakesh Roshan also walked the red carpet to Palais for the screening of the film 'Bright Star'. The trio was all dressed in black.
