Rani Mukherji to play Begum Samru in Tigmanshu's film

If all goes as per wish, we might soon see Rani Mukherjee playing a leading lady in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s period film based on the life of Begum Joanna Nobilis Sombre aka Begum Samru.
Buzz says that Tigmanshu, who has impressed one and all with his last offering Paan Singh Tomar, wants Rani to play the influential character of Begum.
Begam Samru was a nautch girl of the 18th century India but later became an influential figure on the political canvas of the 18th and 19th century India. Begum Samru is a strong and powerful woman. She married a European and became the ruler of a principality near Meerut.
Tigmanshu Dhulia has written the script keeping Rani Mukherjee in mind. He went up to Rani with his script and impressed by his last work and his new script, Rani gave her nod. Little birdie informed that last week Tigmanshu had a long meeting with Rani at her office in Juhu. She loved the role and agreed in principle.
Close sources of Tigmanshu tell that Rani loved his style of work and she is soon going to go for a recce. After Mangal Pandey, be ready to watch Rani once again in an old-age avatar!
