Akshay-Madhuri pairing up for 'Ko' remake
After shifting back to India, Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit has been running around Tinsel Town for the last six months trying to find her dream role. The actress with thousand watt smile was last seen in the movie 'Aaja Nach le' in 2007.
Now the latest buzz is that Madhuri is all set to be roped opposite Akshay Kumar in Prakash Jha's 'Ko' hindi remake. 'Ko' had rocked the Kollywood box office when it released last April and Prakash Jha reportedly hopes to create a similar response in Bollywood by remaking it in Hindi. He has titled his version Sathyagraha and is reportedly in talks with Madhuri for the female lead role. The Tamil political thriller, Ko was directed by K.V Anand. Actor Jeeva and Karthika Nair played main leads in the film.
According to reports Akshay also very keen to rope in Madhuri in this project. Akshay has spoken to Madhuri about being a part of Ko and has also given her the script to read. Madhuri, we hear, although excited about the project hasn't signed on the dotted line, yet. Madhuri's fans will be hoping with bated breath that Akshay manages to convince Madhuri for the flick.
“Madhuri and her manager Rikku Rakesh Nath are already working out the dates while Prakash’s creative team is giving the finishing touches to the script,” our source added. Jha was initially keen to cast Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif for the same film, but decided otherwise.’
The makers are also trying to persuade Nana Patekar to play a pivotal role. Ko is a political thriller and was originally based on the Hollywood flick, State of Play.
