Bachchan kept shooting for Bhojpuri film before he got admitted to hospital for a surgery

On Wednesday, Amitabh Bachchan was shooting for Deepak Sawant’s Bhojpuri film Gangadevi, when he complained of stomach pain. Rumours about the superstar being taken to the hospital spread like wildfire. And while the paparazzi waited to catch him driving to a doctor, the superstar carried on with his shoot. What’s more, hours before the actor was wheeled into the operation theatre on Saturday morning, the Big B was still shooting for the remaining portions of the film directed by his make-up artist of 35 long years.
The actor, who had once reached an hour early for a 7 am shoot and had passed time watering plants on sets, yet again set an example for Bollywood stars with his dedication.

A source, who visited Filmcity on Wednesday, told Media, “Amitabh Bachchan shot for few scenes in broad daylight with Jaya. He was at his energetic best. He looked a little uncomfortable a little later. He simply pulled a chair to rest for a while. However, there was no delay in the schedule because of his stomach pain. Bachchan saab ensured he finished all his shots for the day.”

Talking to Media, Sawant said, “He did so much for someone as insignificant as me. Bhagwaan ke baad doosra main unko bhagwan manta hoon. We shot a Holi sequence on Friday. He was as dedicated as ever. He did not even complain about his pain.”

VIP rooms had been booked at level 5 of the SevenHills Hospital hospital in Mumbai and additional security had been deployed to ensure the superstar’s safety.

The hospital spokesperson, Dr Asthana, confirmed the news and said, “He was very happy with our service during Aishwarya’s
pregnancy and this time we have ensured him that everything would be taken care of.”

    Surgery went off well

Amitabh Bachchan’S scheduled abdominal surgery went off smoothly on Saturday and the actor is resting in the hospital room, said his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan.

“The abdominal pain was due to the pain that had started during the injury that he (Amitabh Bachchan) had got during Coolie (in 1982). He is operated now and the surgery went on for two to three hours. It has gone smoothly,” Abhishek told reporters at the Seven Hills Hospital in Mumbai.

“He has been shifted to the ward and is out of the operation theatre. It was successful, and he has been kept under observation by the doctors,” added the junior Bachchan.

The 69-year-old veteran was happy and cheerful before being wheeled into the operation theatre in the morning, doctors attending on him said. He was wheeled in around 9 am-9:30 am for the surgery, and his family was with him. The doctors refused to divulge other details about the surgery.
