Bollywood actor-turned politician and Samajwadi Party General Secretary Sanjay Dutt was again in trouble when Pratapgarh district authorities served him a notice for his controversial statement of wishing to give Jadu ki Jhappi to Chief Minister Mayawati. Pratapgarh District Magistrate Pinki Joel has served the notice to Sanjay Dutt and asked him to reply within 24 hours. The DM has also asked the Superintendent of Police to investigate into the matter and if required register case against the cinestar.
On April 16, Sanjay Dutt, accompanied by another Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh and Independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya, while addressing an election meeting under Kotwali police station in Pratapgarh Lok Sabha constituency had made some objectionable remark on the Chief Minister. The SP leaders were campaigning for party candidate Akshya Pratap Singh, cousin of Raja Bhaiyya, in the meeting.
This would be the second time when the Bollywood star was involved in a controversy during electioneering in the state. On April 14, a criminal case under section 171(H) of the IPC was registered against him at Dakshintola police station in Mau district for making a communal remark during an election meeting.
