I hardly get time for myself: Kritika KamraShe is widely known as Dr. Nidhi Verma and has won the hearts of millions with her bubbly role in the popular TV show Kuch to log kahege. In an exclusive chat with MM Online Bureau, TV actress Kritika Kamra, shares her opinion on her character. “I like the imperfections of Dr Nidhi, she makes mistakes, she is not an ideal person and it’s easy for people to identify with her as she is innocent, spontaneous and sometimes brash,” says Kritika.
Talking about the serial Kritika said, “It’s a different story on TV and I am touched by the audience response.” Kuch to log kahege is a love story based on the Pakistani TV series Dhoop Kinare and was a very popular show there.
Kamra started her TV career with the show Yahan Ke Hum Sikander. Recollecting those moments she said, “My parents were initially a bit apprehensive but supported my career choice.”
According to Kritika, doing a daily soap is not an easy task. “One has to work for almost 12 to 16 hours a day,” she said. Kritika believes that she doesn’t have any personal life, explaining the same she said, “Currently, my social life has gone for a toss and I am a social person I like to be with friends as I love talking. I hardly get time for myself. But, I like my work so I am enjoying this hectic phase too.”
Speaking about her popular role of Arohi which she played in the serial Kitani Mohabat Hai she said, “For me the challenge was to break free of Arohi label and fortunately, it happened; now people recognise me as Dr Nidhi and I am glad that I have got so many different type of roles to play so far.”
Kamra enjoys shopping and outdoor activities. When it comes to shopping she buys from shopping malls as well as streets. Her exercise schedule largely depends on her shooting schedule. “The day I miss my exercise I take the stairs to climb up as I live on the 6th floor,” she said.
Kamra considers herself as a foodie, “Food always elevates my mood. I love to eat in Bandra especially in joints which have karaoke as I enjoying karaoke and also live bands .Even though I avoid fried food I love to have chaat, samosas and chocolates once in a while. Most of the time I eat healthy food that my mom has now trained my cook to make.”
