Contrary to the news that most of Bollywood woke up to this morning, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are nowhere close to mending fences. The two superstars are still at loggerheads. So what made them spend together at friend Karan Johar’s home recently? Sources who were present at the meeting say it was all to discuss the current strike in Bollywood. “Both Shah Rukh and Aamir are producers in their own right. Karan Johar decided to call a meeting of all young producers like Aamir, SRK, Saif and Akshay. Both Saif and Akshay were not in town and so the meeting was only with Aamir and SRK.”
“The reason why the meeting was called is because Karan planned to address the media today. He then thought of including SRK and Aamir as well. And so the three met at Karan’s home. The topic was the current strike in Bollywood and what they could do help resolve the standoff between the Producers’ Association and the multiplexes. Both SRK and Aamir have a good relationship with most multiplexes… and so Karan felt that if the two tried to intervene and act as peacemakers it would just work for the greater good of the industry,” adds the source. So what was the atmosphere like?
“Both Aamir and SRK are professional. They will never let their personal differences come in the way of their work. Also with the IPL round the corner, Shah Rukh will get busy with that too and so he wanted to address the media about his stand on the situation before he leaves for South Africa. Till date he hasn’t openly addressed the public about his stand on the situation,” says the source.
The two Khans are expected to address the media tonight at 4pm at a five star hotel in suburban Mumbai.
