John goes ga-ga over tigers
John Abraham, who has turned producer for a film on tigers being directed by renowned wildlife film-maker and conversationalist Mike Pandey, seems to be excited about his venture. The actor, we hear, has shelled out around Rs 1crore to fund his most ambitious project — Return of the Tigers. The short film, which will be shot over three seasons, will narrate the story of four tiger cubs who try to survive in the challenging modern day environment like lack of prey, diminishing habitat and the effect of tourism and poaching in areas dedicated to protecting animals. The film will be shot entirely in wildlife parks.
A source informs us, “John is actively working with Mike to see that his production venture is going great. He doesn’t want to compromise on anything for the film and has spent around Rs1 crore for filming purposes.”But all’s not going well for John as he has been shattered to hear the news that one of the four cubs has died. Though tight-lipped to talk about the money part, John reveals that the news about the cub’s death was indeed true.
“We have already started filming and we have a beautiful storyline. The film will tell the journey of four tiger cubs into adults, but unfortunately we have lost one of them due to completely natural reasons. We all are very sad. We don’t have any Bollywood celebrity in our film as we wanted to tell the story of these cubs. We have got some brilliant shots of nature and the cubs. They are so beautiful that anyone who sees it will have tears in their eyes,” he says.
