Bollywood mourns music maestro Bhupen Hazarika's death!
Music maestro Bhupen Hazarika breathed his last today at 4:37 pm at Mumbai's Kokilaben Hospital. The 86 -year-old singer, composer, lyricist, music director, and filmmaker suffered from respiratory and kidney failure.
Hazarika was undergoing treatment at the hospital since June 29 after he complained of breathlessness. His health deteriorated further on October 23 after he developed pneumonia. Filmmaker Kalpana Lajmi was beside him when he breathed his last.
A multi-faceted creative genius, Hazarika was known as the golden voice of Assam. He was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1992 and in 2001 he was conferred with the Padma Bhushan.
