I'm very happy being single: Raima SenBollywood's bong beauty Raima Sen was in the capital to attend the National Film award ceremony where her film 'Memories in March' won the best film in the English film category.
caught up with her just before she was leaving for the award ceremony and she said, " Its always a pride to attend the national film award ceremony. Despite the recent blast that happened few days back in the capital I didn't for once think of changing my plans to attend the function. It is unfortunate to hear about the sudden blast that took place at the Delhi High court where innocent people lost their lives. It is embarrassing to note that even after the 9/11 attack there have been no reports of blasts in US so far whereas, in India even after the Mumbai terror attack after every few months we get to hear about a bomb blast incident happening at various places in India. It's a strong social concern and I feel that its high time we need to do something about it."
All her performances, no matter big or small, have always been appreciated, Raima says, "I love experimenting on my roles. I consider it to be a big challenge. I have done Bengali movies, Hindi movies and now shifting to doing South movies. I will soon ger busy with the shooting of a Malayalam movie 'Veeruputran. In month of September I have a Bengali movie titled '22 shrabon' releasing. Besides that I have a guest appearance in a movie titled 'I me aur mein' opposite John Abraham. I will also be starring in Tanuja Chandra's movie Raakh with Rajeev Khandelwal and Veer Das. This year seems to be very busy for me."
She continues saying, " I was so busy with my shooting schedule that I also missed watching the Messi match that happened in Kolkata recently. My sister Riya was there in Kolkata to watch the match and I was supposed to join her. But my plans got cancelled at the last moment." Of late she has been undergoing a complete makeover and she tells us. "People have mostly watched me doing non glamorous roles on the screen hence at times the audience fail to accept me when I'm dressed up sexily. I feel it is very important to keep changing your looks."
Remembering her grand mom legendary actress Suchitra Sen and she smiles and says, "People say I look more like my grand mom and that makes me feel so happy. But for sure, I can never match up to her magnetic beauty that she had on the silver screen. You wont believe this but its true, my grand mom has never watched any of my movies till now. It was just few days' back that we all sat together at home and she enjoyed watching my Bengali movie 'Nauka Dubi'. After watching the movie her only reaction was a big smile on her face and pat on my back. I don't think my mother, sister or me can ever match up to her acting skills. She was truly a talented actress and she will always remain a star icon for us all in the family."
She has been linked to cricketer Yuvraj Singh but has denied the reports. Raima tells us, "I'm single now and trust me very happy being single. But that doesn't mean that I won't fall in love or get married. I would definitely want to settle down soon. Unfortunately, I haven't found my lucky man till now." Does she have any choices and Raima confesses, " I want my man to have a good sense of humour. He should be someone who can make me laugh and smile all the time."
