Mukul Deora gets Hum Tum... rights for Minissha’s new filmThey always claimed to be close friends. And it seems that Mukul Deora and Minissha Lamba's friendship has gotten stronger with time. First, Mukul arranged a private screening of his debut production Bheja Fry2 especially for the actress at his home. Now, he has decided to buy the all India distribution rights of Minissha's upcoming film, Hum Tum Shabana.
A source informed that Minissha showed Mukul the promos of the Sagar Bellary directorial venture and that's when he proposed the deal with the Hum Tum Shabana producers. Incidentally, the producers were about to close the deal with UTV Motion Pictures.
"Minisha Lamba, who got very close to Mukul on the sets of Bheja Fry 2, showed the promos of the film to him. And so, Mukul has now gone ahead and taken over the film," said the source.
When asked about showing Mukul the promos, Minissha refrained from answering. She simply said, "The film is being distributed by Mukul's Watch Tower Films. After all, Sagar was the director of Mukul's maiden production."
When contacted, one of the co-producers, Sunil Chainani, said, "Yes, Mukul's company Watch Tower Films is distributing the film along with Subhash Dawar's Alliance Entertainment." When asked if Minissha was instrumental in Mukul's decision to buy the distribution rights, Chainani said, "No, I have no clue about this.
I got a call from Mukul's company. They expressed interest in buying the film. So then we met Mukul and he gave us the best offer. That's why we went ahead with him."
With regard to the deal that did not materialise with UTV, Sunil said, "We were talking to UTV but Watch Tower gave us a better deal and that's why we went ahead with them." Mukul Deora remained unavailable for comment.
