Aeromexico successfully completed a 11-hour flight from Mexico City to Madrid on a biofuel-powered Boeing 777-200ER airplane. This is the first ever commercial airplane to fly a transatlantic flight powered by biofuel.

    .

The flight used a blend of 70 per cent kerosene and 30 per cent biofuel, made from the Jatropha Curcas oilseed plant.Airlines got the approval from ASTM International on July 1 to fly passenger aircraft with biofuel.

KLM became the first airline in the world to operate a commercial flight on biokerosene in July.
