Lay to Rest the Argument that John Cena 'Cannot Wrestle'
We all loved last night's match, yes?
Pro-Cena WWE fans such as myself will point to the countless other classics he's had as doubtless proof that the match was going to deliver. Others will have (yet again) been genuinely surprised that the match was so good and that it was probably the match of the year. Because it involved John Cena. And John Cena can't wrestle, right?
Now John Cena has been involved in many matches, as I've mentioned, that have been great. I believe he had his best match last night, and a couple of botches (by either guy) isn't gonna change that opinion, but he has previously delivered on the WWE PPV main event stage with Umaga, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Rob Van Dam, Edge, Bobby Lashley, Batista, among others, and now CM Punk.
Anti-Cena WWE fans have previously claimed that since Cena worked as a babyface in all but one of those matches, he was 'carried' each time, particularly by the likes of Triple H and Shawn Michaels who led the transitions with ground-based grappling.
This is exactly what Cena did last night.
I'm not saying Punk got carried because Punk is too good and too proven in main event matches to be carried. But Cena led that match through some great transitions and paced the match perfectly.
To everybody who dislikes Cena, there can surely now be no doubt that he is one fine wrestler. He consistently delivers on the big stage. He showed great variety working as almost a full-blown heel.
To me and many other smart guys on here, Cena has been great for years. A select few of us believe he is the best in the world. Some will disagree, and that's cool, everyone has opinions.
But the argument that John Cena 'cannot wrestle' is beyond ludicrous and should be laid to rest.

But the quoted part is where I take issue with Cena. He does NOT constantly deliver on the big stage. Over the Limit and Capital Punishment were two examples of this. Over the Limit in particular. Miz beat on Cena for, what, 20-odd straight minutes then won in less than 90 seconds. But the worst part about Cena (imo only) is that when he wants to, he CAN put on phenomenal matches, and he can go beyond the '5 moves of doom' set he falls back on 90% of the time. He's frustrating, because you know he can do so much better than he has done lately. WM - rubbish match. Extreme Rules was better but still iffy. OTL - Rubbish. CP - Rubbish. MITB - Arguably match of the year so far. If Cena delivered like he did at MITB even half the time, I'd have a lot more time for the guy. But as it is, he -DOES- let people carry him and -DOES- put on crappy matches.

Cena definitely can wrestle well, but i don't like the idea of Supperrrrr cena, other wrestler bust there ass off as many guys point out earlier, & Cena do finishing move & here we go Cena WWE champ once again

Cena isn't nearly as crappy as a lot off people would like him to be but he is just a lazy performer overall. He's not great of he is trying hard but as soon as he actually wants to deliver he's a slightly above average wrestler with good micskillz so above average is absolutely enough to be great in WWE (Triple H anyone ?) I hope he's gonna do more from no on, I mean, the Rey vs Cena Match had a few botches but overall, it was interessting to watch so maybe he's trying harder from now on
"The best in the World" - Could not say it any better
