Aircel launched 3G services in India
On February 22, 2011, Aircel launched its 3G services in India. The operator also said that it is going to invest Rs. 230 billion in the next 3-4 years. The carrier would also launch its 3G services in other circles where it has 3G-license in mid-March.
The carrier currently has a 3G licenses in 13 circles and it is in talks with other operators to launch 3G services in circles where it did not win 3G spectrum.
The carrier will offer 3G products to both its pre-paid and post-paid users in its outlets in Chennai. Business Standard reports:
Aircel customers would have an option of purchasing the 3G pre-paid cards priced at Rs 132, Rs 252, Rs 502, and Rs 802 to download upto 75 MB, 150 MB, 350 MB, and 1,024 MB data, respectively, for a month bundled with voice and short messaging service.
For professionals, the company will introduce dongles to stay connected all the time. Gurdeep Singh, Aircel Chief Operating Officer, told reporters that calls made using 3G service would be routed through a call center in Bangalore. The company also unveiled Google phone “IDEOS.”...being a human...
