Salman takes pledge against terrorism
Actor Salman Khan has joined the India Today Group's movement against terrorism and said those who carry out violence have no religion.
Salman signed the 'Declare War on Terror' pledge in Mumbai and urged all Indians to do the same. The actor said that Islam does not propagate violence and the Quran does not sanction anyone's killing. "I don't think any true Muslim wants to have anything to do with such things," he said.
"The terrorists have no religion. God knows what they are trying to achieve by killing people - even children and the elderly," Salman said. "All contentious issues can be sorted out by talks."
The actor said it was great to see the entire country unite and stand up against terror. "It requires a lot of courage to come out on the streets and speak out against the terrorists," he said.
Asked about Mumbai's response to the terror strikes, Salman said it was unfair to expect the city to bounce back every time it became victim of an attack. "If everyone does his job properly, such things (terror strikes) will not happen," Salman said.
