Sushmita sen looking for love
Sushmita Sen, who will celebrate her 33rd birthday in Goa Wednesday, says she isnít looking for romance. Despite having a string of affairs behind her, she also says she doesnít dump men.
ďLetís just say Iím single and ready to mingle. Does that sound too trite? Iím beyond that stage where I have to party and be with 500 people to feel special. Every moment is special and I need no endorsement for it from the outside. Just being with the people who really matter to me is celebration enough,Ē said Sushmita.
But why does she get tired of all her relationships? ďYou mean, do I dump the men? Thatís not true. Initially, everything is hunky-dory in a relationship. Then there has to be some dori (thread) to hold the hunky guy in our relationship. If not, then move on.Ē
Talking about marriage, she said, ďMarriage hasnít happened. It will happen when it happens. Whatís the guarantee that after getting into marriage and 20 years of togetherness, I wonít discover it was the wrong move for me?Ē
Right now, Sushmita is in Goa with her birthday entourage, which consisted of 17 very close family members and friends, including, of course, daughter Renee who occupies centre stage in Sushmitaís life at the moment.
One of the highest points of Sushmitaís life this year and a good way to bring in her birthday was the Fun Fearless Female award, which she got alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Cosmopolitan magazineís first awards in India.
ďI like being perceived as fun and fearless because thatís the way I am. It was a kind of lifetime achievement before my birthday. A little premature, donít you think? ďBut seriously, what made the award so special was that my daughter Renee was there to see her mother get this award. This was the first time she ever attended an awards function where her mother got an award. It felt wonderful to see Renee looking so proud of me.Ē
Sushmita saw Madhur Bhandarkarís Fashion and fell for it. ďIíd say some of it is definitely authentic. Iíve been a part of that world. And I know itís not easy to maintain your equilibrium. What really blew my mind were the performances of Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and the new girl (Mugdha Godse). This is one film Iíd have liked to be part of.Ē
Talk veers to Dev Anand, who turned 84 recently. ďIím inspired by his zest for life. And more than that his dignity. He deserves all the adulation. Extremely charming. I donít know whether Iíll live that long. But if I do I want to be as charming as Dev saab. But itís impossible for me to go on that long. Iím on fast-burn all the time. As long as I live my life to the hilt Iím fine.
