India needs 340 runs to win the first ever test series in South AfricaThe series deciding 3rd test match between India and South Africa has become the exciting one. Millions of fans are eyeing on this match to see the series winner.
Only one day is left to end the 3rd test that took place at the Newlands, Cape Town. Indian cricket team needs 340 runs on the final day to win their first ever Test series in South Africa. It will not be an easy task because the pitch is getting increasingly difficult for batting.
Scoring his second test century of the match, Jacques Kallis put South Africa on top against India. His passionate 109-run innings from 240 balls helped the host to extend the challenging score against the touring team. It was his 40th test century.
Jacques Kallis was suffering from a stomach strain. Despite his injury, he was fighting against Indian bowlers. He remained not out till the end.
South Africa started their second innings trailing by 2 runs and scored 341 runs on day 4 in the third test. Last four wickets added 211 runs after South Africa were struggling at 130 for six at one stage.
Harbhajan Singh showed his aggressive form with the ball. He claimed 7 wickets for 120 in 38 overs. It was his 25th five-wicket haul in Tests. The other three wickets were taken by Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar.
Scoring his 51st Test century, Sachin Tendulkar helped India to chase South Africa’s first innings successfully and scored 364 runs and gave the host 2 runs lead. Sachin Tendulkar scored 146 runs including 17 fours and 2 sixes.
Dale Steyn shone with the ball and claimed 5 wickets once again. However, it was useless as they could not bowl out the touring team within early.
Before that, Kallis showed his talent with the bat and scored his 39th test century that lifted South Africa to 362 in their first innings. His 161 runs innings from 291 balls was his second century of the series.
