BCCI orders IPL franchises to not sign domestic players for nowThe BCCI has now told all the IPL franchise owners to not approach any Indian domestic players for the upcoming fourth edition of the IPL.
The circular sent by the BCCI stated that the franchises could only sign a certain player when they would let them know the proper timing. The domestic players are broken down into three categories to decide their pay depending on their first class cricket experience.
The lowest tier players could be signed for Rs. 10 lakhs per year, the middle tier for Rs.20 lakhs per year.
The topmost tier players who had played atleast five Ranji trophy seasons could be signed for Rs.30 lakhs annually. A franchise official stated that it was because of thethe lack of cricketers at the first class level that the franchises were all set to strike deals with the available few.
An IPL official said that as per the orders of the Bombay High court, both Rajasthan and Punjab teams were supposed to raise the guarantee amount by January 3, 2011 to restore their team status back in the IPL....being a human...
