Indian batting folds quickly, SA wins by a huge marginSouth Africa won by an innings and 25 runs as its bowlers completed the required formalities by getting the remaining wickets within few moments on fifth day.
Indian batting lasted for exactly six overs and folded on 459 runs on the fifth day while Sachin Tendulkar remained not out on 111 runs. S Sreesanth couldn’t add to his tally of three runs and fell to Morne Morkel.
Jaidev Unadkat got out on personal score of one run off eleven balls and got out to Dale Steyn.
The first innings deficit proved too much for the Indian batsmen and they couldn’t even cross the massive South African lead of 484 runs.
Steyn took four wickets for 105 runs while Morkel and Paul Harris took two wickets each. Kallis was adjudged ‘Man of the Match’ for his maiden double century.
Second Test match of the series starts on December 26, the Boxing Day. Indian batsmen showed some muscle in the second innings but the bowling remains a concern.
