Sehwag scores half century as India begin positivelyIndian openers started positively in the second innings and made 92 without losing any wicket after conceding a heavy lead of 484 runs in the first innings of the India v South Africa 1st Test match.
South Africa declared its first innings on 620 for loss of 4 wickets, when AB de Villiers got out on 129 runs to Ishant Sharma. Jacques Kallis remained not out on 201, his first double century.
Indian bowling remained as pathetic as in the previous sessions and almost all bowlers got plundered for over 4 runs per over. Suresh Raina got clubbed for 77 runs in 7 overs, most of the hammering coming off bat of de Villiers.
Virender Sehwag was at his furious best, having scored 51 runs of just 50 balls, hitting South African bowlers all around the park. Gautam Gambhir, not out on 33, came to terms with the mighty pace of Dale ‘Sten gun’ Steyn and Mornie Morkel and is playing both of them pretty easily, providing much needed relief to Indian supporters.
After getting heavy plundering, Indian supporters can heave a sigh of relief now mainly owing to openers’ positive batting and prospects of rain...being a human...
