Band Baaja Baaraat
Check out some of the coolest wardrobes in movies that released this year...If the film was all about the dazzling wedding circuit of Delhi, it is no surprise that Anushka Sharma's wardrobe in the movie was designed keeping in mind the opulence and the grandeur of such celebrations. While Anushka sported form-fitting jeans and T-shirts with ease, the gorgeous salwar-kameez looked great on her as well.
Break ke Baad
Deepika is a real fashion chameleon when it comes to her on-screen appearances. While in her more recent 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey', she appears in rather subdued sarees, she had a sparkling and fun wardrobe for her role in 'Break ke Baad'. While message T-shirts looked funky on her, she also sizzled in short party dresses and hot pants for her role as the fiesty Aaliya Khan in 'Break ke Baad'.
We are Family
Kareena Kapoor single-handedly popularised the check shirts designed by Manish Malhotra on-screen in 'We are Family'. Playing the role of a designer in the film, it was no surprise that her collection of clothes outshone those worn by her co-star Kajol. From printed floral dresses to frilly, feminine blouses to black ****tail numbers, Kareena sent the mercury rising in each of her outfits. Kudos to those who designed the wardrobe for her!
After Kareena showed off her checks, Piggy Chops did that too, in 'Anjaana Anjaani'. While most of the film was shot with the winter season in the backdrop, the lead actors wore some cool clothes exuding a lot of attitude.
Whatever be her role in the films she signs as an actor, Kareena Kapoor unarguably always manages to draw eyeballs to the clothes she wears. For 'Golmaal 3', she wore funky graffiti and message T-shirts with some cool statements on microblogging sites, reflecting the popular culture among the youth.
While Katrina made her first appearance in this film in a gorgeous floaty, salwar-kameez, post interval, her character took up to wearing crisp, cotton sarees. The shift in her wardrobe was demanded by the script and the lissome lass looked no less stunning in the subtly elegant six yards.
While the film failed to make a mark at the box office, the dazzling costumes worn by the three female leads definitely became the talk of the town. While Sonam Kapoor mostly was clad in exquisite Christian Dior, Ira Dubey sported Manish Arora outfits. The film lacked in creativity but its wardrobe was a visual treat.
Model-turned-actor Anushka Sharma looked bodylicious in a mind-boggling range of clothes that were designed for her in 'Badmaash Company'. With gorgeous bikini tops, ****tail dresses and elegant fedoras, watching the actor sashay on the screen in the latest designer clothes is indeed a must-watch.
After several fashion disasters on-screen in films like 'Kismat Konnection' and 'Heyy Babyy', designers and stylists working on Vidya Balan films know what suit her best - the eponymous Indian six yards. Keeping in mind the rustic backdrop in the film, Vidya's sarees may not be very gorgeous but stayed true to the earthy feel of her character.
Hum Tum aur Ghost
This film starring Dia Mirza and Arshad Warsi was a disaster at the box office but the clothes that Dia wore were simply astounding and worth mentioning. The former beauty queen plays a fashion magazine editor with an enviable wardrobe including colourful trench coats, ruffled skirts, short dresses and bags that you could die for....being a human...
