    Hot and sour soup


    1/2 cup carrot, chopped
    1/2 cup cabbage, chopped
    1 tsp Chinese salt
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 tbsp cornflour
    1 cup boneless chicken, shredded
    2 tbsp soya sauce
    2 tbsp chilli sauce
    2 tsp vinegar
    3 to 4 garlic cloves
    Green onions, chopped
    Salt to taste


    • Boil chicken with salt and pepper till tender, leaving four cups of stock.
    • Heat oil, add chopped garlic, all the vegetables, soya sauce and chicken stock.
    • Boil till the vegetables become tender.
    • Add all the other seasonings and cornflour.
    • Cook for a while and then sprinkle chopped green onions.
    • Serve with lime or vinegar.
